Grading & Excavation

GRADING & EXCAVATION
BUILT AROUND
THE PROPERTY.

Rough grading, finish grading, land leveling, excavation, and cut/fill — shaped around how your property actually drains, builds, and holds up. Serving Western NC and Upstate SC with in-house equipment.

Move the dirt once.
Get the grade right.

Grading and excavation set the tone for everything that follows. We shape the ground — cutting, filling, leveling, and correcting elevations — so your build, driveway, and drainage all start on a solid, properly sloped site.

Rough Grading & Land Leveling

Before anything gets built, the ground has to be shaped. Rough grading establishes the overall contours — cutting high spots, filling low ones, and setting slopes so water drains away from where you'll build.

  • Cut & Fill: Material moved from high areas to low areas to balance the site.
  • Slope & Contour: Slopes set for drainage, access, and whatever structure is going in.
  • Pad & Bench Cuts: Building areas and access routes carved to the right elevation.
  • Balanced Site: Earth managed on-site to reduce hauling and control cost.

Excavation & Cut/Fill Work

Excavation is more than digging a hole. It's moving the right material the right distance, at the right depth, without disturbing what should stay put.

  • Foundation & Footing Excavation: Accurate digging for footings, pads, and structures.
  • Cut/Fill Balancing: Earth balanced across the property instead of trucked away.
  • Ditch & Swale Excavation: Channels opened where water needs to move and collect.
  • Spoils Handled: Excess material hauled or spread so the site stays clean.

Finish Grading & Elevation Correction

Finish grading is where a lot turns from "roughly level" into "actually buildable." We fine-tune elevations to tolerance so foundations, pads, and pavement sit on ground that's flat where it should be and sloped where it must be.

  • Final Elevations: Grade brought to the exact height the structure calls for.
  • Compaction & Base: Ground firmed so it doesn't settle after the build.
  • Grade Corrections: Fixing elevations done wrong or settled over time.
  • Build-Ready Surface: Delivered ready for foundation, slab, or pavement.

Access & Drainage Coordination

Grade and water move together. A site shaped for drainage stays dry under the house, along the drive, and across the yard. We grade with water movement planned from the start — so drainage, access, and the build all work as one system.

  • Positive Drainage: Slopes pitched so water runs away from structures.
  • Access Grading: Driveway and road routes graded for stability and runoff.
  • Culvert & Swale Setup: Low crossings and ditches positioned where water actually flows.
  • One System: Grade, drainage, and access planned together — not patched later.

Drone Surveying & 3D Terrain Mapping

Before we move dirt, we measure it. Drone surveying and 3D elevation mapping show us exactly what the ground is doing — so the grade we cut is the grade the project actually needs.

  • 3D Elevation Mapping: Terrain measured before and after the cut.
  • Water-Management Planning: Drainage planned from actual elevation data.
  • Precise Grade Targets: Cut and fill calculated instead of guessed.
  • Smarter Estimates: Less surprise material, fewer re-cuts.

Why the Grade Is Everything

Clearing, drainage, driveways, pads, septic — every phase of a land project leans on the grade underneath it. When the grade is right, everything after it goes smoother and lasts longer.

  • 5-Year Warranty: Qualifying work backed by a minimum 5-year warranty.
  • 10+ Years Local: We've shaped land across Western NC and Upstate SC.
  • In-House Equipment: Excavators, dozers, and skid steers — ours, not rented.
  • One Crew: Grading, clearing, drainage, and access handled together.

Built to last,
backed in writing.

We stand behind qualifying work with a minimum 5 year warranty. When planning, preparation, and installation are done correctly, long-term performance should be expected.
