Concrete Driveways

CONCRETE DRIVEWAYS
POURED ON A
SOLID FOUNDATION.

A concrete driveway is only as good as the ground underneath it. We prep, grade, form, pour, and finish — so your driveway stays flat, drains right, and holds up for years. Serving Western NC and Upstate SC.

The pour is only
half the job.

Concrete cracks when the base shifts, the drainage is wrong, or the pour is rushed. We build the subgrade first, then pour on ground that's actually ready — so your driveway doesn't crack, heave, or hold water.

Site Prep & Subgrade

Before any concrete goes down, the ground has to be right. We excavate, grade, and compact the subgrade so the slab has a stable, well-drained base that won't shift under weight.

  • Excavation: Route dug to the right depth for the slab and base.
  • Grade Set: Slopes established so water drains off the surface.
  • Compacted Base: Stone base packed in lifts for a firm foundation.
  • No Soft Spots: Weak ground fixed before the concrete ever arrives.

Forming & Reinforcement

Forms set the shape, thickness, and edges of the driveway — and they have to be right before the pour. We set forms true to the grade and add reinforcement where the slab will take real load.

  • Accurate Forms: Set to the planned slope, width, and thickness.
  • Reinforcement: Bar or mesh placed where traffic and load demand it.
  • Clean Edges: Forms squared and braced so the pour holds its shape.
  • Expansion Planned: Joint layout worked out before the pour begins.

Pour & Placement

Concrete is time-sensitive. We place it evenly, work it into the corners, and consolidate it so there are no voids — then screed it level to the planned grade.

  • Even Placement: Concrete placed uniformly across the whole drive.
  • Proper Consolidation: Air pockets worked out for a dense, strong slab.
  • Level Screed: Surface struck off true to the slope and thickness.
  • Right Mix: Concrete spec matched to the driveway's use and load.

Finishing & Curing

Finishing gives the slab its surface — smooth or brushed for traction — and curing gives it its strength. We finish at the right time and cure it properly so it lasts.

  • Right Finish: Smooth, broomed, or textured to match use and preference.
  • Proper Curing: Slab kept in the right moisture window to reach full strength.
  • Control Joints: Cut where the concrete should crack — so it doesn't crack elsewhere.
  • Clean Edges: Edges finished clean and true.

Drainage & Water Management

Water is what undermines concrete over time. We grade the slab to shed water and build in the drainage — ditches, culverts, or surface slope — so water never sits on or under your driveway.

  • Positive Slope: Surface pitched so water runs off, not pools.
  • Edge Drainage: Runoff carried away from the slab edges.
  • Culverts: Crossings set where water moves under the drive.
  • Dry Subgrade: Water kept out from under the slab.

Why the Base Matters Most

Most concrete driveway failures — cracks, heaves, sinking — trace back to the base and drainage underneath, not the concrete itself. We've poured driveways across Rutherford, Polk, Henderson, and Spartanburg counties, and we build the base right first.

  • 5-Year Warranty: Qualifying work backed by a minimum 5-year warranty.
  • 10+ Years Local: We know how Western NC soils and slopes behave.
  • One Crew: Excavation, grading, and pour handled together.
  • In-House Equipment: No waiting on rented machines or subs.

Built to last,
backed in writing.

We stand behind qualifying work with a minimum 5 year warranty. When planning, preparation, and installation are done correctly, long-term performance should be expected.
